Sunny, John Sunday, June 03, 2001 at 21:11:08 (PDT)

what was done:
sparks (for coconuts), random power up generation, explosions, temporary height map for basic ground collision, ammo count on hud, monkey animations, trees in world, and sound effects.

what needs to be done for wednesday
more sounds and music, weapon animations, coconut ammo model, modified physics on grenades, and a bounding box for the world so monkeys can't fly out.

Got a parachute model going. Hope I can find the models for things like health, rail bullets, etc...

Sunny Sunday, May 20, 2001 at 20:10:16 (PDT)

Updated the animation text files to reflect the keyframes instead of the actual frames.

Sunny Sunday, May 20, 2001 at 00:16:22 (PDT)

With John's and Craig's help, we've managed to get the tree raw data out from the tree generator and into a binary file (no more using milkshape as an intermediary). Checked that the vertices and texture coords are correct by converting an old cs 167 program to read in the data.

Sunny Saturday, May 19, 2001 at 04:13:27 (PDT)

Took John's Nvidia tree generator code and dumped the vertices into a format agreeable to Milkshape's. However, since that format lacked tex coords and normals, Craig helped me with a format which I could dump the data from the generator out. It actually turned out a bit easier than me and Craig anticipated since I realized the only reason why there was an indices array was that the vertices were already unique (no need for a pruning of duplicate data). So i did that, and will resume testing my generated file when I wake up sometime in the afternoon. :P

monkey idle function is up. updated zip is on my directory.

Sunny Wednesday, May 16, 2001 at 00:26:07 (PDT)

got the alpha channel up and running with the monkey model. Need to save in *.tga format though.

Sunny Tuesday, May 15, 2001 at 22:26:05 (PDT)

ok monkey slap is back up again to conform with the weapon placement decisions.

Sunny Monday, May 14, 2001 at 14:14:11 (PDT)

Yay, i was able to combine all the textures into a single 256x256 bitmap without any real loss of quality. Theres some here and there, but you cant really tell unless you zoom in really really close. Ill put this up in my directory now.

Sunny Sunday, May 13, 2001 at 02:46:35 (PDT)

Ok, Monkey slap should be up in my directory now.

Sunny Saturday, May 12, 2001 at 20:06:28 (PDT)

Redid ALL the textures for the monkey so the shirt looks nicer and the monkey looks meaner. Finished up all the animation sequences except for the idle (which i really think should be done if we have time left). Made new textures so we'll have different colored shirts for the monkeys (character differentiation). Going to work on weapon animation now.

Sunny Sunday, May 06, 2001 at 03:23:36 (PDT)

Ok, I got the monkey to run decently and converted into a quake ii agreeable format. The running sequence is composed of 14 frames so far. A zip of this should be in my directory. Ive included the skin, md2.qc, quake and milkshape models. Shows up nicely with 3d exploration. Am having some problems with the idle sequence though. Will play around more with it tomorrow and maybe get a basic weapon animation going.

Sunny Saturday, May 05, 2001 at 03:33:10 (PDT)

Decided to use Milkshape over Lightwave for the modeling. Took the Monkey model Craig had, applied the textures and a skeletal system. Monkey model is now animated with basic walking features. Will implement more dynamic animation like the idle animation, running, and firing a weapon or tossing a bomb.

Craig Monday, April 23, 2001 at 03:28:15 (PDT)

I've played around with Lightwave and almost made a bamboo-looking thing with a rifle sight on it for the blowgun, but I need a good bamboo texture!

We need to find models for the other weapons. I need your guys' help!!@# Find models with textures included, like quake guns or something hacked.

Kuo-Wen Lo Saturday, April 21, 2001 at 17:44:26 (PDT)

Manage to get Lightwave installed. Once I finish up with input test program, make sure everything works, I might take a day or two out to create some animation from the cool monkey model that Craig got us.

I like art.
